چکیده

Abstract The CONSTANS - like ( COL ) gene family is one of the plant-specific transcription factor families that play important roles in plant growth and development. However, knowledge COLs related cucumber limited, their biological functions, especially photoperiod-dependent flowering process, are still unclear. In this study, twelve CsaCOL genes were identified genome. Phylogenetic conserved motif analyses provided insights into evolutionary relationship between CsaCOLs . Further, comparative genome analysis revealed different species, collinearity pairs to CsaCOL5 Ten kinds cis-acting elements vividly detected promoter regions, including five light-responsive elements, which echo diurnal rhythm expression patterns seven under SD LD photoperiod regimes. Combined with data developmental stage, three involved network pivotal for floral induction process. Our results provide useful information further elucidating structural characteristics, patterns, functions many plants

Expression of multiple AGAMOUS-like genes in male and female flowers of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.).

Members of the MADS-box gene family control reproductive development in higher plants. In cucumber, floral development exhibits several interesting features related to a genetically determined sex-expression mechanism, that affects the differentiation of male and female flowers. In this study, three cDNA homologues of the homeotic gene AGAMOUS have been cloned from early-stage floral buds of Cu...

Genome-wide identification, characterization, and expression analysis of the MLO gene family in Cucumis sativus.

Mildew resistance locus o (MLO) is a plant-specific seven-transmembrane (TM) gene family. Several studies have revealed that certain members of the MLO gene family mediate powdery mildew susceptibility in three plant species, namely, Arabidopsis, barley, and tomato. The sequenced cucumber genome provides an opportunity to conduct a comprehensive overview of the MLO gene family. Fourteen genes (...

Identification of differentially expressed genes related to aphid resistance in cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.)

Cucumber, a very important vegetable crop worldwide, is easily damaged by pests. Aphids (Aphis gossypii Glover) are among the most serious pests in cucumber production and often cause severe loss of yield and make fruit quality get worse. Identifying genes that render cucumbers resistant to aphid-induced damage and breeding aphid-resistant cucumber varieties have become the most promising contr...

Genome-Wide Identification and Characterization of R2R3MYB Family in Cucumis sativus

BACKGROUND The R2R3MYB proteins comprise one of the largest families of transcription factors in plants. Although genome-wide analysis of this family has been carried out in some species, little is known about R2R3MYB genes in cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.). PRINCIPAL FINDINGS This study has identified 55 R2R3MYB genes in the latest cucumber genome and the CsR2R3MYB family contained the smalle...

Assessment of genetic variation in cucumber ( Cucumis sativus L . ) genotypes

In this research, twenty genotypes of cucumber (Cucumis sativus) were studied that were collected from different geographical regions. The experiment was conducted as a randomized complete Block Design (RCBD) with four replications in Greenhouse. Data was collected on morphological features, yield and components of yield of cucumber which include: Total fruit yield per pickling, Fruit number pe...
